Idexx POS Name Codes

IDEXX requires couriers to enter specific codes in the POS Name field when completing a stop. Use the codes below to document what occurred.

POS Name Codes

LB - Lockbox
Confirms that you checked the lockbox.

Important: Always include LB unless the location does not have a lockbox. You must check the lockbox even if clinic staff hand the specimens to you inside.

TT - Talked to
Enter the person’s name after the code.
Example: TT Mary


NBO - No box
The location does not have a lockbox available to check. Call before completing the stop if you cannot locate a lockbox.


SNO - Samples not out
There were no specimens in the lockbox.


KOD - Knocked on door
You knocked to ask whether there were any additional specimens. You must do this whenever the lockbox is empty.


CC - Clinic closed
No staff members were present, and no one answered after you knocked. Use this code only when you did not pick up any specimens.

Common Examples

Lockbox and front-desk pickup
You checked the lockbox, spoke with Jane at the front desk, and picked up three specimens.
Enter: LB TT Jane 3


After-hours pickup
You checked the lockbox after hours and picked up three specimens.
Enter: LB 3


Empty lockbox and closed clinic
The lockbox was empty, and you knocked on all available doors, but no one answered.
Enter: LB SNO KOD CC


Location without a lockbox
Bob gave you one specimen inside and confirmed that the clinic does not have a lockbox. You also checked around the building to confirm that no lockbox exists.
Enter: NBO TT Bob 1
